
The FBI has released a surveillance photo after an employee was physically assaulted during a bank robbery in Buffalo Grove where two suspects were armed with guns.
The Buffalo Grove Police Department responded around 12:15 p.m. Saturday to Bank of America, 55 West Lake Cook Road in Buffalo Grove.
Police officials said a call was made reporting an armed robbery at the location.
Officers responded and learned two suspects were last seen fleeing the bank in a white Jeep Grand Cherokee.
A large police presence was reported at the bank.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was notified and will be leading the investigation, police officials said.
A spokesperson for the FBI said the two suspects made a verbal demand for funds. The suspects both displayed handguns.
A bank employee was reportedly physically assaulted during the robbery, the spokesperson said.
Paramedics were called to the scene to evaluate them.
An alert was broadcasted to area police departments via the Illinois State Police Emergency Radio Network (ISPERN) about the robbery.
The first suspect was described as a thin build male black, approximately 17 years old, wearing all black clothing.
The second suspect was described as a heavy build male black, approximately 30 years old, wearing all black clothing.
The third suspect, who was described as the driver of the Jeep, was described as a male black, approximately 20 years old, wearing all black clothing.
The getaway vehicle was described as a white Jeep Grand Cherokee or Jeep Cherokee with tinted windows and no license plates.
The suspects remain at large as of Saturday evening, the FBI said.
