Police are investigating after multiple offenders forced entry and burglarized four different businesses overnight at shopping centers in Kildeer.
Kildeer Police Chief Steve Balinski told Lake and McHenry County Scanner that the police department took reports for four burglaries early Wednesday morning.
The offenders smashed the front window of each business and entered the stores.
Balinski said officers are reviewing video surveillance tapes to help identify the offenders and the vehicle used.
Officers are also working to determine the exact time each incident occurred and what was stolen from the businesses.
Two of the businesses targeted include Chipotle and Potbelly, which are both located in The Shops of Kildeer at 20505 Rand Road.
The two other businesses targeted include Brunch Cafe and Orange Theory Fitness, which are both located in Kildeer Village Square at 20393 Rand Road.
Balinski said the department is aware of similar burglaries to businesses that have occurred throughout the northwest suburbs.
An alert was broadcasted to area police departments via the Illinois State Police Emergency Radio Network (ISPERN) about the Kildeer burglaries.
The alert said a white sedan was possibly involved and occupied by four masked males, who appeared to be younger in age.
The incidents remain under investigation by the Kildeer Police Department.
