A Crystal Lake man is being held on a $75,000 bond after he allegedly sexually abused a child under 13 over the span of several years in Crystal Lake, court records show.
Jeffery D. Rollins, 61, of Crystal Lake, was charged with four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child, a Class 2 felony.
A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court said the abuse occurred from January 2014 through December 2018 in McHenry County.
Rollins is alleged to have committed four different acts during that time period, the complaint said.
The acts all involved Rollins inappropriately touching a female victim, who was under the age of 13, under her clothes, the complaint said.
The case was investigated by the Crystal Lake Police Department and an arrest warrant was issued on December 8.
Rollins was soon taken into custody on the warrant and transported to the McHenry County Jail.
McHenry County Judge James Cowlin reduced Rollins’ bond during a bond review hearing after his arrest.
Rollins remains held in the jail on a $75,000 bond and would need to post $7,500 cash in order to be released.
The charges against Rollins are Class 2 felonies and he faces a potential sentence of three to seven years in prison if convicted.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 4.
