Logan D. Grove, 23, of Hebron.

A Hebron man, who violated his conditional discharge in a burglary case in McHenry and also resisted a police officer in McHenry County, has been sentenced to probation.

Logan D. Grove, 23, of Hebron, was charged in November 2019 with residential burglary and burglary.

Grove burglarized a residence on October 10, 2019, and entered a car in the 1700 block of North Leonard Avenue in McHenry, according to a criminal complaint.

He stole Beats headphones, a Juicy Couture diaper bag and $600 in cash from the vehicle, the complaint said.

Grove was sentenced in the burglary case to two years of conditional discharge in the case, ordered to pay $340 in restitution and perform 50 hours of public service.

Grove received 44 days of credit for time served after his arrest. He was also ordered to undergo drug and alcohol evaluations.

While on conditional discharge for the burglary case, he was charged with domestic battery in McHenry County in September 2020.

In February, prosecutors filed a petition to revoke Grove’s sentence.

Prosecutors said Grove failed to complete his public service hours, failed to pay his court fines and restitution and failed to obtain an evaluation for substance abuse.

After prosecutors filed the petition to revoke his sentence in the burglary case, a warrant was issued for the man’s arrest.

A McHenry County sheriff’s deputy made contact with Grove on June 2 and told him he was under arrest because of his active warrant.

Grove fled on foot and the deputy chased after the man, a criminal complaint said.

The deputy injured his right heel and right thumb during the chase.

McHenry County Judge Michael Coppedge sentenced Grove to two years of probation and 50 hours of public service. Grove also received credit for serving a total of 146 days in jail.
