A 21-year-old woman has been charged with battering one of her family members and then kicking a firefighter-paramedic who was called to the scene in Crystal Lake.
Desiree D. Thompson, 21, of Crystal Lake, was charged with aggravated battery of a fireman, domestic battery physical contact and resisting a peace officer.
A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court alleges Thompson grabbed one of her family member’s arms and pulled her into a wall on Saturday.
The Crystal Lake Police Department responded to the scene in the 1600 block of Brompton Lane in Crystal Lake.
An ambulance was then dispatched to the scene to evaluate Thompson around 7:30 p.m.
The complaint said Thompson kicked a firefighter-paramedic while he was performing his official duties.
Officers attempted to arrest Thompson but she allegedly began resisting arrest.
Thompson tensed and twisted her arms and body before officers were able to take her into custody, the complaint said.
The woman was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
Thompson has not been transported to the McHenry County Jail for a bond hearing yet.
The most serious charge, aggravated battery of a fireman, is a Class 2 felony, which carries a prison sentence of three to seven years but is probationable.
A status of arrest hearing has been scheduled for January 17.
