Police have released surveillance images of a wanted car after a gunman fired shots at a home and car in a Lake in the Hills neighborhood two days in a row.

The Lake in the Hills Police Department said the first incident occurred in the first block of Deer Path Road on January 2.

A single gunshot was fired at the residence around 6:20 p.m. that day.

The second incident occurred the following day in the evening.

Three gunshots were fired toward the same residence, striking the home and a parked vehicle, during that incident.

No one was injured during either incident, police said.

The first shooting initially went unreported and was only discovered during the investigation into the second shooting.

Detectives began conducting interviews and follow-ups, at which point they learned about the first shooting, police said.
