Police say a 28-year-old man was stabbed at an unknown location in Zion on Monday and transported to the hospital after officers found him at a residence.

The Zion Police Department and Zion Fire and Rescue Department responded around 10:50 a.m. Monday to the 2100 block of Bethesda Boulevard in Zion for a report of a stabbing.

Officers arrived to find a 28-year-old man with a stab wound to his torso, Zion Police Department Lt. Paul Kehrli told Lake and McHenry County Scanner.

Someone else — not the victim — had called the police to the residence.

The Zion man told officers he was stabbed at an unknown location in Zion by an unknown offender, Kehrli said.

Detectives tried to gather additional information from the victim but he did not provide them with information on the incident.

Detectives did not locate any evidence in the residence where the victim was found that would indicate the stabbing occurred there, Kehrli said.

Paramedics transported the man to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

His condition has stabilized and he is expected to survive, Kehrli said.

Anyone with information on the stabbing is asked to contact Zion Police Department investigators at 847-746-4110.
