A Lake in the Hills man has been sentenced to 180 days in jail for sexually abusing a child and allegedly possessing child pornography made by the victim, court records show.
Garrett M. Fuller, 19, of Lake in the Hills, was charged in September 2021 with three counts of child pornography and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child.
A grand jury indictment said Fuller was found in possession of child pornography, which was produced after the man solicited a victim.
The material was images and video, the indictment said.
Fuller also committed several acts of sexual conduct on the victim, who was a boy under the age of 13, the indictment said.
The offenses occurred in September 2021, court records show.
The case was investigated by detectives with the Lake in the Hills Police Department.
Court records show Fuller pleaded guilty last week to one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child, a Class 2 felony.
In exchange, the rest of the charges against Fuller were dismissed.
McHenry County Judge Tiffany Davis sentenced Fuller to 180 days in jail and three years of probation.
Fuller was also ordered to undergo a sex offender evaluation and the recommended treatment.
Fuller was also ordered to register as a sex offender and have no contact with the victim.
Fuller will begin serving his jail sentence on January 29. He will receive day-for-day credit, meaning he will only serve half of his sentence.
