Additional charges have been filed against twin brothers arrested after a man was robbed at gunpoint at a pizza restaurant in Wonder Lake and then the suspects allegedly fired shots from a pellet gun.
The incident happened at Napoli’s Pizza, located at 7613 Howe Road in Wonder Lake, around 6:35 p.m. last Wednesday.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office responded after receiving a 911 call for an armed robbery.
An initial investigation showed that two people pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant and parked next to a gray Chevrolet.
They exited their car and one of them was approached by a suspect, identified as Dashaun Harvest, 24, of Chicago, who demanded money from the victim at gunpoint, the sheriff’s office said.
The male victim complied and Harvest reportedly got back into the vehicle and was driven away.
The victim and the second subject followed the suspect’s vehicle, at which point a suspect began firing shots toward the victim’s car.
The shots were later identified as pellets from a pellet gun, the sheriff’s office said.
The Woodstock Police Department responded to assist the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
Woodstock officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle after the victim called 911 and a traffic stop was conducted.
The car was reportedly occupied by four subjects.
A passenger in the car, Dawun Harvest, 24, of Elgin, was found to be concealing a gun, later identified as a pellet gun, the sheriff’s office said.
Dashaun Harvest was charged with armed robbery and mob action. Dawun Harvest was charged with mob action and obstructing justice.
Additional charges of two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon have since been filed against both men.
The new charges allege both men discharged the pellet gun at the victim’s vehicle during the incident.
Bond was set at $101,000 for Dashaun Harvest and $11,000 for Dawun Harvest, court records show.
Dawun Harvest was released from the McHenry County Jail on Monday after posting 10% of his bond.
Dawun Harvest is scheduled to appear in court again on February 7 for a plea hearing.
Dashaun Harvest is scheduled to appear in court again on February 9 for a status hearing.
