Sheriff’s deputies arrested seven suspects on various drug charges after investigators found drugs inside a home near McHenry while executing warrants, authorities said.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant and an arrest warrant around 5:20 p.m. on February 1.
The warrants for Dylan P. Wetzel-Connor, 24, of Hebron, according to McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Communications Specialist Emily Matusek.
Matusek said information led investigators to believe that Wetzel-Connor was inside a residence in the 4000 block of William Street in unincorporated McHenry.
Deputies entered the residence and located Wetzel-Connor and arrested him on several charges, including his active warrants out of McHenry County and a Lake County warrant.
Wetzel-Connor resisted arrest and battered two sheriff’s deputies, according to court records.
Wetzel-Connor was charged with aggravated battery of a peace officer, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, resisting a peace officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He also faces an additional two dozen charges between multiple active cases against him.
Some of those charges include aggravated fleeing and eluding a peace officer, driving on a revoked or suspended license, reckless driving, obstructing justice and possession of a controlled sbstance.
Austin Wetzel-Conner, 29, of Hebron, was also arrested after being found in the home. He was wanted on a warrant for domestic battery.
Austin Wetzel-Conner was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance, obstructing identification and possession of drug paraphernalia.
While in the home, deputies observed drugs and drug paraphernalia and requested a separate search warrant, Matusek said.
Four additional suspects were identified as Jeffrey J. Corbeil, 27, of McHenry; Dawn V. Castagne, 42, of McHenry; Raymond F. Schordie, 61, of Wonder Lake; and Shallay D. Zerin, 34, of McHenry.
Those four were charged each with one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
A seventh suspect, Nicholas J. Strnad, 41, of Lindenhurst, was arrested after deputies spotted him leaving the home.
He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving while license suspended or revoked.
