A 30-year-old woman was arrested after prosecutors say she stabbed her husband during a fight at a hotel in Gurnee earlier this week.
Ceiria A. Woodland, 30, of Gurnee, was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, two counts of domestic battery and violation of an order of protection.
The Gurnee Police Department was called on Wednesday to the Super 8 hotel, 5520 Grand Avenue in Gurnee.
Lake County Assistant State’s Attorney Kelse Banks said officers received a call for a report of a person who was stabbed outside the hotel.
The victim told officers he had been staying at the hotel with Woodland, who is his wife.
The victim has an active order of protection against Woodland.
Banks said the victim and Woodland were involved in an argument outside the hotel.
A witness saw the victim and Woodland arguing and pushing each other back and forth.
Woodland then stabbed the victim with a knife, the witness told officers.
The victim sustained a wound to his hand, which was bleeding when officers arrived, Banks said.
Lake County Judge Theodore Potkonjak ordered Woodland held on a $100,000 bond.
Woodland remains held in the Lake County Jail and would need to post $10,000 cash to be released.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 15.
