Prosecutors say a man struck a child and also battered a woman, leaving them injured, during a domestic incident in Round Lake Beach last week.
Magdaleno Gonzalez-Navarro, 36, of Round Lake Beach, was charged with two counts of domestic battery causing bodily harm and two counts of domestic battery physical contact.
The Round Lake Beach Police Department responded to Gonzalez-Navarro’s residence on Glenwood Drive in Round Lake Beach last Friday.
A verbal altercation escalated into a physical fight, prosecutors said.
Gonzalez-Navarro allegedly grabbed his wife and threw her to the ground.
Gonzalez-Navarro also struck a teenage child during the incident, prosecutors said.
Officers observed visible injuries on the victims. The attack was witnessed by a second child.
A public defender representing Gonzalez-Navarro during the bond hearing said her client does not have a criminal history.
Lake County Judge Bolling Haxall ordered Gonzalez-Navarro held on a $10,000.
Jail records show he was released from the Lake County Jail after posting 10% of his bond.
Haxall ordered the man to have no contact with any of the victims and not possess any dangerous weapons while out on bond.
An arraignment hearing is scheduled for March 8.
