Cole A. Kazakeich, 21, of Vernon Hills.

A 21-year-old man allegedly led police on two vehicle pursuits in Lake Villa and Antioch before being later arrested in Vernon Hills, prosecutors said.

Cole A. Kazakeich, 21, of Vernon Hills, was charged with aggravated fleeing police, reckless driving, two counts of speed, improper traffic lane usage and disregarding a traffic control device.

Lake County Assistant State’s Attorney Emma Smoler said officers with the Lake Villa Police Department spotted Kazakeich speeding 62 in a 40 mph zone.

Officers activated their lights and sirens for three miles down Route 83, Smoler said.

The pursuit reached speeds of 85 mph while Kazakeich drove erratically, Smoler said.

Kazakeich allegedly weaved around cars and drove into oncoming traffic.

Smoler said officers terminated the pursuit and the Antioch Police Department attempted to stop him.

Officers tried stopping Kazakeich but he fled from them and drove back toward Lake Villa on Deep Lake Road, Smoler said.

Speeds reached 80 mph despite officers having their lights and sirens activated.

Smoler said that Kazakeich successfully got away from officers but was later arrested in Vernon Hills.

Lake County Judge Michael Betar ordered Kazakeich held on a $50,000 bond.

Kazakeich remains held in the Lake County Jail and would need to post 10% of his bond to be released.

A status of preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday.
