Police are investigating after a suspect stole over $100,000 worth of jewelry from a jewelry store in Highland Park, officials said.
The Highland Park Police Department responded around 4 p.m. on February 22 to Jacqueline’s of Highland Park, 209 Skokie Valley Road.
A police report said an unknown subject walked into the store and stole a roll of necklaces.
The value of the stolen necklaces was estimated to be worth $108,000, the report said.
Highland Park Deputy Police Chief William Bonaguidi said the incident occurred while the store was open.
The suspect and an employee had been interacting when the suspect stole the merchandise.
Bonaguidi said the suspect fled the store and is believed to have gotten into a car, which possibly had a driver waiting inside.
No injuries were reported and no weapons were displayed during the incident, Bonaguidi said.
The theft remains under investigation by the Highland Park Police Department.
