Detectives are investigating a suspected arson fire that left a resident’s car engulfed in flames in the driveway of their home in Huntley, authorities said.

The Huntley Police Department and Huntley Fire Protection District responded around 11:31 p.m. Wednesday to the 11800 block of Everglades Road in Huntley for a report of a vehicle fire.

Huntley Deputy Police Chief Linda Hooten said officers arrived to find a gray passenger car fully engulfed in flames.

No one was injured as a result of the fire, Hooten said.

The nature of the fire appears suspicious and Huntley police detectives are conducting an investigation into the incident.

Hooten said the burnt vehicle was not stolen and there is no indication it had been used in a crime prior to the fire.
