Police arrested a McHenry man Sunday morning who they said was wanted for forcibly detaining a witness to a crime and threatening him at a Wonder Lake home.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said Friday that William P. Bolich, 47, of McHenry, was wanted on a McHenry County arrest warrant.
Bolich is charged with communicating or detaining a witness, unlawful restrain, criminal damage to property and battery.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 4400 block of East Lake Shore Drive in Wonder Lake.
A criminal complaint said Bolich forcibly detained a man and threatened injury or damage to property.
Bolich forced the victim into their kitchen and would not allow him to leave, the complaint said.
The complaint said Bolich pushed the man into a wall and grabbed his glasses off his face before throwing them to the ground.
Bolich also damaged a door frame and a glass bowl during the incident, the complaint said.
The complaint said Bolich intended to deter the victim from testifying in a pending criminal court case against Bolich.
Court records show that case involves the same male victim.
A complaint said Bolich punched the victim’s door, damaging it on August 26, 2021, in Wonder Lake.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office had asked anyone who spots Bolich to not attempt to apprehend him or approach him.
Jail records show Bolich was arrested and booked in the McHenry County Jail around 1:45 a.m. Sunday.
Further information regarding where police arrested him was not immediately available.
He is scheduled to appear in court Monday morning for a bond hearing.
