Police say two juveniles were possibly involved in committing an arson fire that left construction equipment ablaze at a park in Libertyville.

The Libertyville Fire Department and Libertyville Police Department responded around 5:57 p.m. Saturday to Paul Neal Park, 1251 New Castle Drive in Libertyville.

Police officers were dispatched to the location for construction equipment on fire.

Officers arrived and determined a skid steer was on fire.

Two juveniles were seen leaving the area on bicycles before police arrived, police officials said.

The fire department arrived and eventually extinguished the fire.

Officers spoke with a witness who provided them with a description of the juveniles.

The incident has been classified as an arson fire and the police department is actively investigating the case.

Police officials said no arrests have been made yet and the investigation remains ongoing.
