A Huntley man has been charged with bribery after he allegedly tried paying a court services employee in exchange for not reporting his positive drug test.
Court records show Kenneth O. Gaudio, 61, of Huntley, has an active case in McHenry County for aggravated driving under the influence fourth offense, a Class 2 felony.
He had been out of custody since January 2019 after posting 10% of his $25,000 bond.
Gaudio pleaded guilty to the charge and was entered into the DUI court program.
A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court said Gaudio tested positive for alcohol during an alcohol and drug screening on Wednesday.
The complaint said Gaudio bribed an employee, who is contracted by probation and court services to perform the drug tests.
Gaudio offered the employee cash in exchange for not reporting his positive test to the court, the complaint said.
Gaudio was taken into custody and charged with one count of bribery, a Class 2 felony.
McHenry County Judge Michael Coppedge set bond at $30,000.
Gaudio was released from the McHenry County Jail after posting 10% of his bond.
A status of preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 23.
