A warrant has been issued for a Winnebago County woman who allegedly fled from police before crashing into multiple vehicles and a residence in Crystal Lake on Monday.

Crystal Lake Deputy Police Chief Richard Neumann said officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black Chrysler 200 sedan around 12:10 a.m. Monday.

The Chrysler, which was traveling westbound on Route 176 near Commerce Drive in Crystal Lake, fled from the officers.

Police did not pursue the vehicle, which was discovered to have crashed into a residence in the 0-100 block of Lincoln Parkway.

The Chrysler was later determined to have been reported stolen from Beloit, Wisconsin, on March 14.

A preliminary investigation revealed the Chrysler was traveling southbound on Lincoln Parkway south of Woodstock Street, Neumann said.

The Chrysler left the roadway and caused several crashes that resulted in three vehicles and two residences being damaged.

The occupants of the Chrysler fled the area on foot and are still being sought, Neumann said.

A portion of Lincoln Parkway was shut down for approximately two hours while emergency crews worked the scene.

Neumann said no injuries were reported as a result of the collisions.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the Algonquin Police Department and the Cary Police Department assisted at the scene.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said they responded with a canine to help search for the suspects.

The canine tracked for a short distance and ended at a nearby park.

Crystal Lake Deputy Police Chief Thomas Kotlowski said in an update Friday that Kara L. Stickles, 30, of Loves Park, was identified as the driver.

Stickles was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, possession of a fraudulent driver’s license, criminal damage to property, reckless driving, driving while license suspended and failure to give information after a crash.
