The sheriff’s office says that a man was arrested after deputies found him with a stolen grill in the back of his pickup truck following a burglary in Beach Park Saturday evening.
The Lake County Sheriffโs Office responded around 9:30 p.m. Saturday to the 37100 block of North Green Bay Road in Beach Park.
Lake County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chief Christopher Covelli said deputies responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a residence.
Dispatchers received a 911 call from the victim, who said an unknown person broke into his shed and stole a grill.
Sheriffโs deputies responded to the scene and an alert deputy observed a Chevrolet Silverado in the area with a grill in the bed of the pickup truck, Covelli said.
The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.
A further investigation revealed the driver, Thomas Anderson, 63, who lives nearby to the burglary victim in Beach Park, was responsible for committing the burglary and stealing the grill, Covelli said.
Anderson was arrested and transported to the Lake County Jail.
The Lake County Stateโs Attorneyโs Office approved charges of burglary, criminal damage to property and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Anderson remains held in the Lake County Jail pending an initial court appearance.
