An Antioch man arrested for possessing drugs escaped from police custody by running out of a hospital in Woodstock Friday evening, court records show.
David S. Kaminski, 40, of Antioch, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
McHenry County sheriff’s deputies arrested Kaminski on the charges around 4:30 p.m. Friday.
Deputies found him in possession of less than 15 grams of a substance containing cocaine, according to a criminal complaint.
The complaint said deputies also found Kaminski in possession of a metal smoking pipe with burnt residue.
Kaminski was transported to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in Woodstock.
Kaminski, who was in police custody, escaped from deputies by running out of the hospital around 6:45 p.m., according to a criminal complaint.
The complaint said Kaminski resisted arrest by refusing commands to stop.
Deputies eventually caught Kaminski and transported him back to the hospital.
McHenry County Judge Costello ordered Kaminski held on a $40,000 bond during a court hearing Saturday.
Kaminski remains held in the McHenry County Jail and would need to post $4,000 cash to be released.
A bond review hearing is scheduled for April 10 and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 21.
