A Buffalo Grove man died and a woman was injured after the two were riding on a motorcycle and crashed into a ditch in Kenosha County Saturday afternoon.

The Kenosha County, Wisconsin Sheriff’s Department said they responded along with firefighters and paramedics to a serious vehicle crash around 3:37 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of 312th Avenue near Burlington.

Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. David Wright said initial reports indicated a 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling southbound on 312th Avenue.

The motorcycle failed to negotiate the curve as it approached 7th Street.

The motorcycle left the roadway and crashed into the ditch line on the west side of 312th Avenue, Wright said.

Wright said the roadway was wet as it had just finished raining.

The motorcycle, which sustained extensive damage, was occupied by two riders.

The female passenger of the motorcycle was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The name of the deceased driver is being withheld pending notification to his family.
