A man, who was with family and friends at Clearview Park in Waukegan, was shot in both of his legs following an altercation with a group, police said.
The Waukegan Police Department and Waukegan Fire Department responded around 6:15 p.m. Saturday to Clearview Park, 1523 North McAree Road in Waukegan, for a shooting.
Waukegan Deputy Police Chief Scott Chastain told Lake and McHenry County Scanner that one victim was shot.
The victim, an adult male, was at the park with family and friends.
He got into an altercation with a group that appeared to be in their late teenage years when shots were fired, Chastain said.
The man was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
Chastain said the man was shot in both legs and his injuries were non-life-threatening.
The offenders fled the scene before officers arrived and no arrests have been made in the case.
The incident remains under active investigation by the Waukegan Police Department.
