A Grayslake woman is in critical condition after she was struck by a semi-truck while riding her bicycle in Kenosha County Thursday morning, authorities said.

The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office and Village of Bristol Fire/Rescue Department responded around 10:07 a.m. Thursday to the 15200 block of CTH K in the Village of Bristol.

Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. David Wright said deputies received a report of a serious vehicle crash involving a bicyclist and semi-truck.

Initial reports indicated that a 1998 Kenworth semi-truck was traveling eastbound on CTH K.

A bicyclist was also traveling eastbound in front of the semi and suddenly made a left turn into its path, Wright said.

The maneuver resulted in the bicyclist being struck by the semi-truck.

The bicyclist, a 53-year-old Grayslake woman, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Froedert Pleasant Prairie Hospital.

She was later transferred to Froedtert Milwaukee by Flight for Life.
