Authorities issued a “civil alert” and are asking residents to check their property for a 28-year-old man who disappeared early Saturday morning amid active searches for him.

The McHenry Police Department announced Sunday afternoon they are searching for Gustavo Guzman-Perez.

The 28-year-old man was last seen in the 1200 block of North Green Street in McHenry. He was seen around 2 a.m. Saturday.

The police department said they are actively searching in the area of the McHenry Country Club, 820 North John Street.

Police are being assisted by the McHenry County Emergency Management Agency.

Guzman-Perez is considered “at risk,” the department said in an update Sunday evening.

Guzman-Perez resides in the southeast part of McHenry.

He is a male Hispanic, 5-foot-5 and 150 pounds. A clothing description was not released.

All McHenry residents are being asked to check their properties for the man.

Authorities issued an emergency civil alert regarding Guzman-Perez around 5:45 p.m. Sunday. The alert was sent to residents in McHenry County through their televisions.

Anyone who finds Guzman-Perez or knows his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
