A man suffered a severe injury and was flown to the hospital after he became pinned between two construction vehicles near Huntley Thursday afternoon.
The Huntley Fire Protection District responded around 4:35 p.m. Thursday to the intersection of Ellery Lane and Clearwater Way in unincorporated Huntley.
Huntley Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Michael Pierce said it was reported that a subject had his leg pinned between a skid steer and a dump truck.
Crews arrived and found a man who had his leg pinned between a skid steer’s bucket and the bumper of a dump truck.
EMS personnel administered medical care while fire crews secured the vehicles.
Spreaders were used to lift the dump truck off of the patient’s leg, Pierce said.
It took approximately eight minutes for firefighters to free the victim.
Pierce said a LifeNet medical helicopter was requested to the scene and landed nearby.
The victim was flown to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with a severe leg injury. His condition has since stabilized.
Pierce said the scene was turned over to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office for further investigation.
