A Lake in the Hills man has been charged with striking a child in the face, grabbing her by the neck and throwing her in Lake in the Hills, court records show.
Raymond M. Sugel Jr., 42, of Lake in the Hills, was charged with domestic battery bodily harm, domestic battery physical contact and child endangerment.
A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court alleges Sugel battered a teenage victim around 10:30 p.m. on April 15.
Sugel struck the female juvenile in the face multiple times with his hands, the complaint said.
Sugel also allegedly picked the girl up by her arms and threw her to a couch, the complaint said.
The complaint said Sugel “grabbed her by the throat” and forced her to the couch on two separate occasions.
The victim reported pain in her jaw, neck, shoulder and arm, the complaint said.
Officers with the Lake in the Hills Police Department arrested Sugel and transported him to the McHenry County Jail.
McHenry County Judge Michael Coppedge ordered Sugel held on a $7,000 bond.
Coppedge ordered Sugel to have no contact with the victim as part of his bond conditions.
He was released from the McHenry County Jail after post $700 cash.
A plea hearing is scheduled for May 17.
