A garage and a shed were destroyed after they were engulfed in flames, causing damage to a house in Round Lake Beach Sunday evening, fire officials said.

The Greater Round Lake Fire Protection District responded around 6:15 p.m. Sunday to the 0-100 block of East Lake Park Avenue in Round Lake Beach for a report of a structure fire.

Greater Round Lake Fire Protection District Lt. Eric Beck said initial 911 callers reported a detached garage on fire.

Firefighters arrived to find a fully involved garage and shed.

A fence was also on fire and beginning to affect two residences, Beck said.

Firefighters were able to quickly get water on the fire and stop it from spreading inside the homes.

A neighboring house sustained heat damage to its vinyl siding but no direct fire damage.

No injuries were reported to occupants or any firefighters, Beck said.

The Greater Round Lake Fire Protection District was assisted at the scene by the Grayslake Fire Protection District, Fox Lake Fire Protection District, Lake Villa Fire Protection District and Wauconda Fire District.

Additional crews from Antioch and McHenry fire districts provided coverage for calls in the Round Lake area.

The Greater Round Lake Fire Protection District said they remind residents to have and practice a fire escape plan with their family, including a safe meeting location.
