A 21-year-old man died at the hospital after he was shot at a popular bowling alley in Waukegan Sunday evening, authorities said.

The Waukegan Police Department responded around 1:09 a.m. Sunday to Bowlero, 631 Lakehurst Road in Waukegan, for a report of a shooting.

A man was shot multiple times at the business, the Lake County Coroner’s Office told Lake and McHenry County Scanner.

The victim was transported by private vehicle to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan.

Doctors pronounced the victim, who was 21 years old, deceased in the emergency room.

An autopsy performed Tuesday confirmed the victim died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds, the coroner’s office said.

The Waukegan Police Department has not yet released any information on the circumstances of the shooting.

The department told Lake and McHenry County Scanner they expect to release information later Tuesday or Wednesday.
