A Round Lake man has been charged after he allegedly threatened to kill a passenger in his vehicle, forcing the woman to leap from the moving vehicle and leaving her injured in Richmond.
Trevor W. Crawford, 23, of Round Lake, was charged with unlawful restraint, interfering with the reporting of domestic violence and assault.
A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court alleges Crawford refused to allow a woman to exit his vehicle around 10:19 p.m. on May 19.
The woman repeatedly asked Crawford to allow her to leave the vehicle, the complaint said.
Crawford took the victim’s phone out of her hands and threw it out of the car window, the complaint said.
At one point, Crawford allegedly threatened to shoot the woman and take her to a field and kill her, the complaint said.
The woman leaped from the vehicle while it was traveling in Richmond, resulting in her suffering injuries to her hands, arms and feet.
The Richmond Police Department arrested Crawford and transported him to the McHenry County Jail.
McHenry County Judge Jennifer Johnson ordered Crawford held on a $20,000 bond.
Crawford was released from the jail last weekend after posting 10% of his bond.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 15.
