A child was flown to the hospital after they were ejected from an ATV that crashed off the roadway in a Spring Grove neighborhood, police said.

The Spring Grove Fire Protection District and Spring Grove Police Department responded around 5:45 p.m. Thursday to Anthony Lane and Wilmot Farms Drive in Spring Grove for a vehicle crash with injuries.

Spring Grove Police Chief Michael Niedzwiecki told Lake and McHenry County Scanner the incident involved one vehicle, an ATV.

The ATV left the roadway and reportedly rolled over, according to fire department radio traffic.

The crash occurred north of the intersection.

Niedzwiecki said a juvenile was thrown from the ATV after it left the roadway.

The juvenile suffered an injury to their arm. The victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening, Niedzwiecki said.
