A medical helicopter flew a man to the hospital after he was injured in a mini-bike accident near a church and school in Crystal Lake Sunday afternoon.

The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department and Crystal Lake Police Department responded around 3:55 p.m. Sunday to the 300 block of Pathway Court in Crystal Lake.

Emergency crews received a report of a crash with injuries near the Immanuel Lutheran Church and School.

Officials said an adult male crashed his mini-bike on the grass.

The adult male operator of the bike was initially reported to be in and out of consciousness, according to fire department radio traffic.

The victim suffered injuries that were later determined to be non-life-threatening, officials said.

A LifeNet medical helicopter was requested and landed in a grassy area near the church.

The helicopter flew the victim to a trauma center for treatment.

Officials said alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
