One person was transported to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash that resulted in an SUV crashing into the front of a clothing store in Vernon Hills Thursday afternoon.

The Vernon Hills Police Department and Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District responded around 2:20 p.m. Thursday to Clothes Store of Vernon Hills, 1318 South Milwaukee Avenue in Vernon Hills.

The crash involved two vehicles and one of the cars, a white Lexus SUV, struck the front of the store.

Paramedics transported one person to a local hospital for treatment, according to fire department radio traffic.

A second person was evaluated but declined transport to the hospital.

The store’s glass windows were damaged and a board-up company was called to the scene.

The Vernon Hills Building Department responded to the incident. No structural damage was reported.

The Clothes Store of Vernon Hills said in a statement on social media that they were “so grateful that everyone is okay.”

“… a special shout out to the first responders who arrived within minutes, as well as our wonderful neighbors, Irv’s Luggage, Asian Paradise Vernon Hills and Westlake Northshore Kitchen and Bath,” the business said.

The store reopened Friday after the damage was cleaned up and the windows were boarded up.
