Hannah Sheppard, 35, of Crystal Lake.

A Crystal Lake woman, who was out on bond for injuring an officer, was arrested for striking a police officer and throwing liquid at a firefighter in Crystal Lake.

Hannah Sheppard, 35, of Crystal Lake, was charged late last month by a grand jury with four counts of aggravated battery of an emergency worker and two counts of resisting a peace officer.

A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court alleges Sheppard kicked a Crystal Lake police sergeant around 10:30 p.m. on May 4.

The complaint said Sheppard also threw a “liquid substance” onto a firefighter-paramedic.

Officers arrested her and she was transported to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in McHenry.

While at the hospital, she damaged a glove box holder in a restroom in the emergency room, according to a separate complaint charging her with criminal damage to property.

In March, Sheppard was charged with resisting a peace officer causing injury and driving under the influence.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Sheppard in the 500 block of Darlington Lane in Crystal Lake.

Officers believed Sheppard was under the influence of alcohol, according to court documents.

She allegedly refused to exit her car and resisted arrest, causing an officer to fall to the ground and injure his hand.

Sheppard was out on bond in that case after a judge allowed her to be released without posting any money on March 15.

Sheppard was ordered held on a $40,000 bond in her latest case. She remains held in the McHenry County Jail.

A status of trial date hearing is scheduled for July 18.
