A 33-year-old man was arrested in Lake in the Hills after authorities say he groomed and solicited a child younger than 13 to send him sexually explicit images and videos.
Anthony Jacquez, 33, of Lake in the Hills, was charged with 11 counts of child pornography, one count of indecent solicitation of a child and one count of grooming.
The Lake in the Hills Police Department said they conducted a several-month investigation into Jacquez.
The investigation was initiated following a cyber tip that was sent to the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, which the Lake in the Hills Police Department is a member.
Detectives assigned to the ICAC began a thorough investigation and obtained a search warrant on Jacquez’s residence, police officials said.
The warrant was executed Tuesday at the home, located in the 900 block of Aster Court in Lake in the Hills.
A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court alleges Jacquez solicited a child through the internet.
Jacquez groomed the child to send him sexually explicit photographs and videos of herself, the complaint said. The victim was under the age of 13.
Jacquez was arrested by officers following the search warrant.
He was transported to the McHenry County Jail where he was ordered held on a $50,000 bond.
The most serious charge against Jacquez is a Class X felony that carries six to 30 years in prison if convicted.
Jacquez remains held in the jail and would need to post $5,000 cash in order to be released.
A bond hearing is scheduled for Friday.
