Laura G. Rodriguez, 47, of McHenry.

A McHenry woman has been sentenced to 13 years in prison after pleading guilty to driving under the influence for her sixth and seventh time, which occurred in Woodstock and McHenry.

Laura G. Rodriguez, 47, of McHenry, was stopped on Lamb Road north of Route 120 in Woodstock around 1 p.m. on July 18, 2022.

Officers with the Woodstock Police Department noticed Rodriguez’s 2018 Jeep Compass make unsafe lane changes on Route 120 near Lamb Road, court documents show.

Rodriguez was not supposed to be driving a vehicle because her license had been revoked from previous driving under the influence cases, according to a criminal complaint.

Officers determined Rodriguez was also driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the stop, the complaint said.

A grand jury indictment charged Rodriguezย with two counts of aggravated driving under the influence, two counts of driving on a revoked or suspended license, driving under the influence of alcohol and two counts of improper traffic lane usage.

The indictment said Rodriguez had two prior convictions for driving with a suspended or revoked license.

The indictment said Rodriguez also had six previous violations for driving under the influence of alcohol.

The prior driving under the influence cases occurred in McHenry County in 2002, 2004, twice in 2014, 2021 and once in Wisconsin in 2004.

Rodriguez had been out on bond at the time of her Woodstock arrest for the above-mentioned 2021 DUI arrest, which occurred in McHenry on July 20, 2021.

Court records show Rodriguez entered into plea deals Wednesday for both of her pending DUI cases.

She pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated driving under the influence sixth or subsequent violation, a Class X felony, and had her less serious charges dismissed.

McHenry County Judge James Cowlin approved the plea deals and sentenced Rodriguez to 13 years in prison โ€” 78 months for each count.
