The FBI said a woman robbed a bank in Round Lake Saturday afternoon and she is believed to be the same suspect wanted for robbing a bank in Round Lake Beach last week.

The Round Lake Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) responded around 12 p.m. Saturday to First American Bank, 1865 South Cedar Lake Road in Round Lake.

An FBI Chicago spokesperson said law enforcement was called for a bank robbery where no weapons were displayed.

A female suspect entered the bank and presented the teller with a note demanding money.

No injuries were reported, the FBI said.

The suspect fled the scene and has not been taken into custody yet.

The suspect is described as a female black, being in her 20s or 30s, 5-foot-2 and of unknown weight.

She had black hair and was wearing a black hat with white letters, a white short sleeve t-shirt, light gray sweatpants and red high-top shoes.

The woman was carrying a canvas bag with unknown words and shapes on it and she was also wearing a blue surgical mask covering her face.

Last weekend, the FBI and Round Lake Beach Police Department responded around 10 a.m. on June 24 for a bank robbery at Great Lakes Credit Union, 2135 North Route 83 in Round Lake Beach.

The FBI said the suspect in that case is believed to be the same as the Round Lake bank robbery.
