A man underwent surgery after he was stabbed allegedly by a woman who was armed with a large knife in Fox River Grove Thursday evening, court records show.
Cynthia M. Done, 61, of Fox River Grove, was charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, a Class 3 felony.
The Fox River Grove Fire Protection District and Fox River Grove Police Department responded around 8:10 p.m. Thursday to the 700 block of Northwest Highway in Fox River Grove for a report of a stabbing.
Paramedics arrived and found a male victim who had been stabbed. They transported him to a local hospital for treatment.
Officers arrested Done after identifying her as the suspect, court records show.
A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court alleges Done caused great bodily harm to the victim.
Done stabbed the victim in his right thigh with a 12-inch knife, the complaint said.
The victim suffered a laceration that resulted in immediate medical attention and surgery, the complaint said.
The Fox River Grove Police Department did not immediately return a request for further information on the circumstances of the incident.
It is unclear whether the male victim knew Done or not.
McHenry County Judge Michael Coppedge ordered Done held on a $30,000 bond.
Coppedge barred Done from having any contact with the victim and ordered her to surrender any firearms should she be released on bond.
Done remains held in the McHenry County Jail and would need to post $3,000 cash in order to be released.
