Police have issued a community alert seeking the public’s help in identifying the vandals responsible for defacing gravestones and damaging a park in Richmond.

The Richmond Police Department said they have taken several reports of criminal damage to property during the week of June 25.

The offender or offenders damaged both private and public property at multiple locations.

Damage was reported at Richmond Cemetery on Broadway Road, Bennett Park on Milwaukee Avenue and an apartment building at 9810 Prairie Ridge Road.

The suspects pushed over portable toilets, cut soccer netting and forced entry into a maintenance shed.

They also spray-painted park equipment, park grounds and gravestones with white and orange spray paint.

The police department said they are seeking the community’s assistance in identifying the vandals involved.
