An Algonquin woman has been charged after she allegedly kicked a female nurse in the stomach while at Northwestern Medicine Hospital in Huntley.
Charice A. Eakins, 51, of Algonquin, was charged with aggravated battery of a nurse, a Class 3 felony.
Eakins was in the emergency department at Northwestern Medicine Hospital in Huntley around 8 p.m. on May 31.
A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court said Eakins was lying on her back in a hospital bed.
Eakins placed both feet together and “forcefully kicked” the stomach of a female nurse, the complaint said.
An arrest warrant was issued for Eakins on June 14 two weeks after the incident.
Eakins was taken into custody at the Huntley Police Department on the same day.
She was processed and released from custody after posting 10% of her $20,000 bond, court records show.
Eakins is scheduled to appear in court on August 11 for a preliminary hearing.
Last month, an Algonquin woman was sentenced to probation for kicking a pregnant nurse in the stomach while being treated at Northwestern Medicine Hospital in McHenry.
