Bystanders performed CPR on an unresponsive motorcycle driver who was rushed to the hospital in critical condition following a collision with a car in Lincolnshire Monday.
The Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District and Lincolnshire Police Department responded around 2:25 p.m. Monday to Milwaukee Avenue and Olde Half Day Road in Lincolnshire for a vehicle crash with injuries.
Fire crews arrived to find a crash involving a car and a motorcycle, according to Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Steve McCaughey.
Bystanders were performing CPR on the driver of the motorcycle — a Mundelein man in his 60s.
McCaughey said paramedics transported the man to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the car, a Mitsubishi sedan, was evaluated by paramedics and did not require transport to the hospital.
Lincolnshire Police Department Sgt. Ryan Revoy said the Harley-Davidson motorcycle driver remains in critical condition.
The Lincolnshire Police Department requested the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) to the scene to assist in the crash investigation, Revoy said.
Police did not say which direction the vehicles were traveling or who was believed to be at fault.
The crash occurred in the middle of the intersection and it appeared to be a front-end collision.
The name of the Mundelein man involved is being withheld pending notification to his family, officials added.
The incident remains under investigation by the Lincolnshire Police Department and MCAT.
