Jessica L. Krochmal, 28, of Crystal Lake.

Police arrested a driver who was allegedly driving drunk when she was involved in a crash that left another woman seriously injured in Crystal Lake Friday evening.

The Crystal Lake Police Department and Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department responded around 9:32 p.m. Friday to the area of Huntley Road and Ackman Road for a vehicle crash with injuries.

Fire crews arrived to find two vehicles involved with moderate to heavy damage. Two ambulances were called to the scene.

One of the cars involved, a 2012 Audi A4, was driven by Jessica L. Krochmal, 28, of Crystal Lake.

Three people were evaluated by paramedics and two of them were transported to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital.

One of the victims, a female, suffered great bodily harm as a result of the crash, according to a criminal complaint. Her current condition was not known.

Police shut down Ackman Road between Amberwood and Swanson and Huntley Road between Ackman and Waterford Cut while they investigated.

Officers arrested Krochmal and allege she was driving under the influence of alcohol.

Krochmal was charged with aggravated driving under the influence causing great bodily harm, a Class 4 felony.

McHenry County Judge Michael Coppedge ordered Krochmal held on a $10,000 bond.

She was released from the McHenry County Jail after posting 10% of her bond.

Court records show Krochmal was out on bond at the time of the crash after being charged with criminal damage to property in April.

She allegedly used a knife to damage another person’s Kia SUV tire in the 1500 block of Royal Oak Lane in Lake in the Hills.
