Officials say a driver was transported to the hospital after a semi-truck pulling a dump trailer rolled over off of Interstate 94 near Libertyville early Thursday morning.
The Libertyville Fire Department and Illinois State Police responded around 5:34 a.m. Thursday to Interstate 94 north of Atkinson Road near Libertyville for a vehicle crash with injuries.
The single-vehicle crash occurred in the westbound lanes of Interstate 94 at mile marker 15, according to Illinois State Police.
An investigation showed a truck tractor with a dump trailer was traveling in the westbound lanes.
A tire on the truck blew out and caused the driver to lose control of the semi.
The driver swerved to avoid other vehicles and struck the guardrail, causing the semi-truck and trailer to roll over, state police said.
No one was trapped in the semi-truck and the driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment, police said.
A passenger in the truck also escaped without serious injury.
Ernie’s Wrecker Service responded to the scene to assist with the cleanup and removal of the semi.
One lane of Interstate 94 was shut down while crews worked at the scene.
