Three suspects have now been arrested after two men, who were armed with a replica gun, allegedly robbed a jewelry kiosk ofย products at the Belvidere Mall in Waukegan.

Cristofer Y. Ixmay-Vicente, 20, of Waukegan, and Jose J. Garcia, 20, of Gurnee, were charged with one count of aggravated robbery indicating a firearm.

Officers were dispatched on March 12 to the Belvidere Mall in the 2200 block of Belvidere Road in Waukegan for a report of a robbery.

Ixmay-Vicente and a second man, later identified as Garcia, entered the mall and approached a jewelry kiosk, prosecutors said.

Two workers, one of which had an infant with them, were manning the kiosk.

Ixmay-Vicente and Garcia tried on jewelry, including chain necklaces that were worth between $200 and $450.

Ixmay-Vicente produced a firearm and pointed it at an employee of the kiosk, prosecutors said.

The firearm used was later determined to be a BB gun.

Prosecutors said Ixmay-Vicente and Garcia fled with the necklaces. They were captured on video surveillance getting into a vehicle.

Officers recognized the vehicle and license from a prior encounter.

Prosecutors said officers conducted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle two weeks after the robbery.

Ixmay-Vicente was the driver and a juvenile was the passenger.

Ixmay-Vicente allegedly admitted to being the driver of the vehicle on the day of the robbery.

Prosecutors said Ixmay-Vicente admitted that he and others planned the robbery while at a friend’s house.

In March, Lake County Judge Theodore Potkonjak ordered Ixmay-Vicente held on a $300,000 bond.

Potkonjak ordered Garcia, who was arrested last week on a warrant, held on a $350,000 bond.

Ixmay-Vicente was released from the Lake County Jail on Friday. Garcia remains held in the jail.
