A semi-truck hauling a mobile home rolled over and blocked Route 12 in Lakemoor for hours Thursday after it collided with an SUV, leaving one person injured.
The Lakemoor Police Department and Fox Lake Fire Protection District responded around 8:28 a.m. Thursday to Route 12 and North Fox Lake Road in Lakemoor for a report of a vehicle crash with injuries.
The crash involved an SUV and a semi-truck, according to Lakemoor Police Department Public Information Officer Kevin Lyons.
The silver SUV was on North Fox Lake Road at Route 12.
The SUV failed to stop at the stop sign while attempting to turn left onto northbound Route 12, Lyons said.
The semi-truck, which was hauling a manufactured home, was traveling southbound on Route 12.
Lyons said the two vehicles collided after the semi-truck was unable to stop in time.
The collision caused the semi-truck to jackknife, resulting in the truck and manufactured home rolling over and blocking the southbound lanes.
Paramedics transported the driver of the SUV to a local hospital where they were treated and released.
No one else was transported to the hospital.
Crews worked for hours to clean up the wreck, which included removing the manufactured home from the roadway after it broke in the crash.
Officers cited the driver of the SUV for failing to yield.
