A 60-year-old man has died in the hospital over a week after he was found shot multiple times and unresponsive at an apartment complex in Waukegan, authorities said.

An autopsy performed Monday showed that Mark Glover, 60, of Zion, died from complications of multiple gunshot wounds, according to Lake County Coroner Jennifer Banek.

The Waukegan Fire Department and Waukegan Police Department responded around 11:45 p.m. on August 18 to the 1600 block of Kayla Lane for a report of a shooting.

Multiple 911 callers reported hearing shots and also reported a person shot.

Officers arrived and found Glover injured in the parking lot of the Northgate Apartments.

Glover had multiple gunshot wounds and was not conscious and not breathing, according to fire department radio traffic.

Officers began performing lifesaving measures on Glover until paramedics arrived.

The officers applied two tourniquets and performed CPR on him, a police report said.

Paramedics transported Glover to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville where he underwent surgery, the report said.

The Waukegan Police Department Criminal Investigation Division was called to the scene to investigate.

Investigators remained at the scene for several hours into Saturday morning.

A resident who lives in the apartment building told Lake and McHenry County Scanner she heard approximately eight gunshots.

Glover was declared brain dead on Thursday and officially declared dead on Saturday.

The Waukegan Police Department has released no information on the case regarding whether they believe Glover was the intended target. It is also unknown if any suspects have been identified.
