Fire officials say a man was seriously injured after a crash involving his motorcycle and another vehicle on Route 47 in Woodstock Tuesday afternoon.
The Woodstock Fire Rescue District and Woodstock Police Department responded around 2:17 p.m. Tuesday to the 2000 block of South Eastwood Drive for a report of a vehicle crash with injuries.
Firefighters arrived to find a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle, according to Woodstock Fire/Rescue District Communication Specialist Alex Vucha.
The motorcyclist was down on the ground at the intersection of Eastwood Drive and Willow Brooke Drive.
A medical helicopter was requested to be put on standby for the victim, Vucha said.
The nearest LifeNet and React helicopters were both unavailable.
Vucha said the closest available helicopter was 30-35 minutes away.
The helicopter was canceled and the male victim was transported by ambulance to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in Huntley.
He suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, Vucha said.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was uninjured in the crash.
The Woodstock Police Department was investigating the cause of the crash.
