A man was attacked by two suspects who grabbed his neck and struck him in the head with an object during a robbery in Waukegan Friday evening.

The Waukegan Police Department responded around 11:30 p.m. Friday to the 200 block of South Elmwood Avenue in Waukegan for a report of an armed robbery.

The victim told officers he had pulled into a parking lot on the block when he was approached by two subjects, according to a police report.

The two male suspects knocked on the car window and the victim rolled the window down.

One of the suspects grabbed the victim’s throat while the other suspect struck the victim in the side of the head with an object, the report said.

The victim turned over his wallet and cash and the suspects then fled the area.

The victim suffered a laceration to his arm and a bruise to his head.

The report said a description of the suspects and the direction they fled were unknown.

The incident remains under investigation by the Waukegan Police Department.
