A man was ordered out of his car at gunpoint and kidnapped in a minivan by suspects who also stole the victim’s car in Waukegan Sunday morning.
The incident happened around 6:50 a.m. Sunday in the area of Dugdale Road and 10th Street in Waukegan.
A man was driving in a Kia Sorento when an older model red minivan drove up to the front of his vehicle, according to a police report.
The minivan stopped and two suspects exited the vehicle.
One of the suspects was armed with a handgun and approached the male victim, the report said.
The offender pointed the gun at the victim and ordered him out of his Kia.
The victim was punched by one of the suspects and forced into the suspects’ minivan, the report said.
The minivan drove to the area of Belvidere Road and Willow Avenue where the victim was released.
Officers later located the victim’s stolen vehicle at Lewis Avenue and Dugdale Road. It had front-end damage.
The Waukegan Police Department has not publicly released any information on the incident or issued a warning to the community.
