Police say they are investigating after a bomb threat prompted the evacuation of the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant in Round Lake Beach Thursday afternoon.
The Round Lake Beach Police Department responded around 2:45 p.m. Thursday to Buffalo Wild Wings, 500 East Rollins Road in Round Lake Beach, for a bomb threat.
Round Lake Beach Deputy Police Chief Ryan Rodriguez said dispatchers were contacted by employees of the business.
The restaurant was immediately closed and evacuated due to the threat.
Police contacted the Waukegan Bomb Squad to assist in the investigation.
Rodriguez said the bomb squad did not respond to the business but communicated with officers on the ground searching the facility.
A thorough search of the business resulted in no devices being found.
The call was deemed a hoax approximately 90 minutes after the threat was issued, Rodriguez said.
Restaurant employees decided to reopen the facility after receiving the all-clear.
Police are working with the business to determine who phoned in the bomb threat, Rodriguez said.
Anyone with additional information should call the Round Lake Beach Police Department at 847-546-2127.
